Tips for Getting the Best Results

You don't need to be an artist to get great results from a craft mould kit. Here are a few simple tips to help:

Start with a base coat. Apply one even layer of your main colour first and let it dry before adding details. This gives you a clean, solid foundation to work on.

Use a dry brush for texture. Dip your brush lightly in paint and wipe most of it off before applying — this creates a subtle, textured effect that looks really effective on animal figures.

Layer your colours. Don't be afraid to mix and layer. A darker shade in the recesses and a lighter highlight on raised areas adds real depth to your figures.

Let each layer dry fully. Plaster absorbs paint quickly, so drying times are short — usually just a few minutes. Patience between layers makes a big difference to the final result.

Seal it when you're done. If you want to display your finished figures long-term, a coat of clear varnish (not included) will protect the paint and give a lovely finish.
